"This stuff is just for guys. I don't think I'm strong enough.."

Literally the biggest myth ever when it comes to handstands! Although it's great if you have some good upper body and core strength to begin with, you're not doomed if you don't! 

A good handstand is a combination of strength, mobility and the most important of all - good technique! If you don't have much strength, I have great news for you - the better your technique, the less amount of muscles you need to hold a comfortable handstand. 

Oh and by the way - my community consists of more than 10,000 people and most of them are WOMEN (and they're absolute badasses). Look at Molly:

Nope, I won't let you use that as an excuse. Handstands are for ANY AGE! Look at Danielle over there who is 66 (!!) and smashing it. 

And she's not the only one, I have so many 50+ year-old men and women learning cool stuff like handstands.

You might be pleasantly surprised that I didn't either. I have started learning handstands just a few years ago (I'm 27 years old now) with zero gymnastics background. You can always learn new things. Progress over perfection, you guys!

Maybe you won't be doing one arm handstands anytime soon, but having a stable two arm handstand? Yup, definitely doable!

It literally physically pains me when people say something like this because it cannot be further away from the truth!

Let me share my story.. as I feel like you might relate..

I have started learning the art of handbalancing a few years ago (nope, I was not a gymnast when I was younger) and although the beginnings were not easy.. actually, I pretty much sucked, I fell in love.

I'm not gonna lie, it was rather intimidating at the beginning to start training that skill, especially as all of my teachers were men (with crazy upper body strength which I definitely did not posses). I felt very awkward being the "weird one" in the gym doing these things. Especially when I was not good at it. Talk about feeling majorly insecure, lol.

By the way, this is me at the beginning of my journey. Yup, I couldn't even properly jump into a handstand:

I decided that enough is enough and found myself a handbalancing teacher who would provide me a structured plan to work with and progress. I started putting in the work. For real this time. With each day, I was getting better. I was still the "weird one", but as I was able to get some consistent hang time in my handstands, I started to be the "weird one" that others would start approaching for advice. Instead of feeling intimidated doing these things in the gym. I started feeling empowered. 

I was suddenly able to do the skill that even guys around me were struggling with. And I'm not gonna lie, it made me feel good. (I have an older brother, so I have had this sense of competition since I was a little kid, don't judge me ;))

Every time I would whip into my handstand and nail my holds, I would come down only to see guys around me looking super puzzled. How can this girl with her tiny arms do this and I cannot?

Many people think that handstands are about having crazy upper body strength. And that's it. I have attended so many workshops and learnt from so many teachers and none of them were talking about big muscles and crazy strength.

The piece that others are usually missing is working on a proper TECHNIQUE and investing time into skill work.

When others started approaching me for advice, I started to realize how great it feels to pass the knowledge I have accumulated throughout the years and help others with getting better. Funny thing about handstands is that sometimes a tiny advice can create a big difference, so I was able to see very quickly the fruits of my labor. And I fell in love with the feeling!

By then, I was already a Yoga Teacher, so I have naturally started to teach handstands also my students in classes which grew more and more popular and as more people were getting interested in the skill, I started to teach handstand workshops. Seeing others nailing this skill has become my ultimate passion and my work. I didn't  really plan on becoming a handstand teacher, but the teaching kind of found me. Nowadays, I'm on the road teaching workshops worldwide and nurturing my online community.

On the left is his handstand before we met. And on the right is the one after being in a relationship with me for a few months. Now I don't want take the full credit for this change, but let's just say that I gave him a few pointers, ehm.

David is actually an amazing example of a person that can handstand, but whose form kinda sucked (sorry, buba). In the left picture, you can notice the hands wide apart from each other, the slightly arched back (banana shape is super common) and very uncoordinated legs. He could handstand, but staying in place was a real struggle, he basically always had to walk on his hands.

Handstand is definitely possible even with a bad technique, but most likely you won't progress past a certain point. Plus maintaining this form is actually much harder to do for your body (you have to “power” through).

David could do that, because he was trying handstands since forever and has developed muscles to support that shape. But it's not gonna be possible for everyone to just “wing it” like that. And the good thing is, you don't need to.

Q: I'm just a beginner. Is Aligned for me?

A: 100% yes! You might have to take it a bit slower, as it's important that you have some basic joint and muscle strength (the program prepares you for that!) but you can definitely jump in. Aligned teaches you everything you need to know and takes you from zero to superhero.

Q: I have been practicing handstands for a while, will Aligned teach me something new?

A: If you do not have a stable 30s freestanding handstand and feel like you need more guidance in your practice, then Aligned is definitely for you! If you have a stable freestanding handstand already and want to progress from there, you might need a more advanced approach.

Q: Will I be able to do a freestanding handstand after the 8 weeks?

A: It is definitely possible to be able to hold a decent freestanding handstand in that time. But! Everybody is different, coming from different sports and movement backgrounds and in order to be fully honest and transparent, I have to tell you that there is no black and white answer here. No good coach can promise you these results (if they say they can, run). Handstand practice is a marathon, not a sprint and Aligned simply gives you all the tools to achieve a stable freestanding handstand at your own pace.

Q: I'm not flexible at all (I cannot even touch my toes). Is it okay?

A: The better flexibility and mobility you have, the easier handstands are gonna be. It doesn't mean though that if you're lacking the flexibility, you're doomed. It just might be a bit harder for you. And also - Aligned does include a mobility workout that will help you become more flexible and better prepared for the skill!

Q: I'm not strong at all, is it okay?

A: Basic strength is of course important with all bodyweight skills, but the lack of it is not the issue that should keep you from exploring the skill. Aligned offers introductory Week 0 phase for everyone who need to build up the initial joint and muscle strength before even attempting handstands. You can stay on Week 0 for a few weeks if you feel like you need to before you jump into Week 1 and start properly training.

Q: I'm 40+, can I do this program?

A: 100%. We have students all ages, from 20 to 70 who are using Aligned to smash their handstand goals. Check out Danielle rocking handstands at age 66:

Q: Why should I sign up NOW?

A: Why pay more when you can pay less? I'm releasing this program to the public for the very first time and therefore giving you a special price which is much lower than the overall value of the program. BUT do not count on the price staying forever that low.

Q: Can I buy the program but start it later? What if I want to move at my own pace?

A: Definitely yes! Once you sign up for Aligned, you have it FOR LIFE. That means that you can start anytime and keep coming back at it. There's lots of material that's easily going to keep you occupied for months (and maybe even years), so giving it to you for life is very important for me.

The Core Play focuses on strength, but handstands are so much more than just that! With the last week of The Core Play, you got only a tiny glimpse into what it takes. If you wish to progress in your handstand journey, Aligned is the way to go as it dives DEEP into the proper technique and all the handstand "How-to".

Q: How is the content delivered? Does it work on all devices?

A: The content is stored in my Members Area to which you get access after you sign up for the program. It's super easy to use and it works on mobile, tablet, laptop. You can also stream it on your TV (with the use of HDMI cable).
